Nutracker

Nathan and I went to our 2nd annual date to see the Nutcracker ballet. He loves the sword fighting and then during the "long" grand pas de deaux, he played with his Nutcracker wooden toy. He fidgeted so much that the Nutcracker's sword from his toy flew into the seat in front of us.
Afterwards, he chose Fudruckers for a hamburger (give this boy some beef, and he's quite happy). He told me: he loves the Aggies, Texans, wants to be a professional soccer player, doesn't like kissing (he watched It's a Wonderful Life on my ipod on the way, and he fast forwarded the part where George Bailey and Mary kiss the first time), loves pepper on his fries (no catsup), and thinks that I'm prettier with my hair down. : ) Other thoughts: his favorite Christmas song is Carol of the Bells. And, we jammed to Over the Rainbow on my ipod on the way home (he played DJ).

Yogi kids

I haven't been posting because it was so time consuming to download photos to blogger but now it's fixed! So, more to come!

Drew really wanted this mat... but it's to give away!

the kids take the camera, drew dragged this mat outside so we could "practice"

Is he getting big or what?

Drew learns to ride a bike & gets his yellow belt in TKD

Drew declared he wanted to learn to ride without training wheels yesterday, so off they went, wheels and Andrew. We kept waiting for him to fall... but he never did.  A little wobbly but a great first ride!

Andrew (and his best buddy, also named Drew) also tested out for his yellow-stripe belt this week.
Great job, Drew!

Alien Mom

"Each day of our lives we make deposits
in the memory banks of our children."
~Charles R. Swindoll

Sweet Nathan drew this portrait of me as an alien. I apparently have a large left bicep and one crazy eye. (Both of which is somewhat true in real life.) I love that Nathan's a lefty- and so creative.

He's in Santa Fe with his granddad and nana for a bit this summer having adventures all his own... lots of wonderful deposits in the memory bank.

Family Camp, Shepherd of the Ozarks

― Rickie Lee Jones

Nathan gave family camp a "9 out of 10" but since Nathan got sick the last 2 days, he changed the rating to a "6 out of 10". : ( Sore throat & fever... but he still managed to go to the caverns with the Magar's and explore, even spotting some bats and taking some bat droppings home with him ("ewww! bat guano"). His favorite part: the canoe trip. Andrew's favorite part: "playing with carson & catching his first fish, all by my-self! And, catching my second fish!" Andrew takes to the big kids- and to punching...sigh, I'm going to have to go get my hair done soon... more grey hair!
